Alden's first week home

Nothing too exciting. Alden is doing what most newborn babies do which is eating and sleeping. He's a bit backwards in that he likes to sleep a lot during the day but we are working on that and he's doing a bit better and slept for four hours straight the past two nights!

We gave Alden his first bath which he HATED. He screamed the whole time.

Beckett had a visit from Auntie Katie this weekend. He fell in love with her glasses and wanted to wear them everywhere. Even though he got a cold, and was miserable he still wanted to keep the glasses on.

Here's a picture of all the guys together. It's hard to get everyone smiling and looking at once.

Alden at Home

Alden and Cassie came home from the hospital today! Last time, Beckett had to stay in the hospital for weeks and weeks, so this is very new to us. Our house suddenly feels full.

Beckett is adjusting well to Alden. When we got the car, he was upset to leave "baby brother," and I had to reassure him that we were just getting the car to pick him up. So far Beckett has been gentle and sweet with Alden.

It's a Boy!

OK, we knew it was going to be a boy. But it's a cute boy! Alden McIver Glass was born at 8:32 am on March 6, 2008, weighing 5 pounds 9 ounces and measuring 18 inches. We got a call last night from Dr. Moore telling us that there was a lot of protein in Cassie's urine, and that she had consulted with Dr. Taslimi and decided that we should deliver now to avoid possible complications in the near future.

The delivery went very smoothly, although Cassie had high blood pressure afterwards and fairly severe pain and nausea. She is resting more comfortably now and is on magnesium sulfate as a precaution. She is already feeling better and should be less groggy by tomorrow, when she will hopefully feel up to talking on the phone and having visitors. Alden is doing great and trying to breastfeed, although everyone is exhausted so it might take him a while to get the hang of it.

I could go on and on about Alden's cuteness but I need to get some rest so I will just post some pictures and write more soon.
